East St. Louis Mayor Alvin Parks Invited to Speak in Front of Community Development Committee at the U.S. Conference of Mayors – Sunday, Jan. 18th

East St. Louis Mayor Alvin Parks has been selected to present real concrete solutions to the Community Development & Housing standing committee at the U.S. Conference of Mayors, during their 2009 77th Winter Meeting in Washington, DC on Sunday, January 18th.

USDA-Rural Development Expresses Interest in Assisting MECLC with Funding for Construction the E-Macrosystem.

On Dec. 16th, the MECLC received a call from the USDA-RD to learn more about the benefits of the E-Macrosystem Advanced Renewable Energy System power plant and manufacturing center for rural communities.  Agricultural waste serves as feedstock for the Waste Steam Reforming System.  The USDA-RD encouraged the MECLC-EI joint venture to pursue funding from the new Farm Bill being released Jan. and Feb., 2009

EI-ARES, LLCs requested funding for the E-Macrosystem Advanced Renewable Energy System national exemplar power plant and manufacturing center to be located on the East St. Louis riverfront.  A subsequent addendum was provided to Committee Chairman, Senator Jeff Bingaman outlining costs and benefits for rapid deployment of the ARES Comprehensive National Energy Plan made possible by federal economic recovery investment in ARES.
