Welcome to the Metro East Citizens Land Cooperative.  The MECLC is an Illinois shareholder corporation in the business of land leasing and development.  The owners are the residents of eleven Metro East communities – Alorton, Brooklyn, Cahokia, Centreville, East St. Louis, Fairmont City, Granite City, Hartford, Madison, Venice, and Washington Park.  All net profits are distributed to the owners as dividends.  All resident shareholders (every man, woman, and child) have a non-transferable share and vote.
